Albums From the Past Two to Three Years That Impacted You

What are some albums you came across the past two or three years that have made a deep and lasting impact on you? They could have been released at any point in time. You also could have owned or listened to them for awhile.   HolyName - Live in Chicago: Initiation MxPx - Pokinatcha Belle & Sebastian - Tigermilk Belle & Sebastian - Fold Your Hands, Child You Walk Like a Peasant Black Matter Phantasm - Hesychasm Righteous Jams - Rage of Discipline Unwed Sailor - Mute the Charm Hatebreed - Perseverance Slices - [their entire discography] Cult Ritual - [their entire discography] Condominium - [their entire discography] Buzzov-en - [their entire discography] John Coltrane - My Favorite Things Brodequin - [their first two or three] Macronympha - uhhhhh it's impossible to hear their whole discography, but I've listened to most of the "classics" and been blown away by all of them... Black Leather Jesus/Richard Ramirez - basically everything I've heard him do For...

Okay Lindon Debut A New Single From Upcoming Album

Image
The latest single to drop from Middletown, Ohio indie-pop band OKAY LINDON's return release, Passion Pain , has debuted on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon Music,  Spotify , Tidal, Deezer, Pandora, Napster, Mixcloud, Slacker, Youtube (see above :) and probably some extraterrestrial radio stations.  Their previous material was more in the realm of alternative rock (with an indie rock influence), but this track has what I call a "Southwestern Ohio indie" sound to it.  Or maybe I'm just picking up on the influence that Cincinnati's prolific producer and musician, ISAAC JOEL, has had on music in the region.  Listen to THE BIG SPLIT 's collaboration that David Roller of COAST OFF put together for reference.  On that note, Dustin Smith from OKAY LINDON appears on that massive collaboration album, as well.  But back to this song... I can't tell if this one almost-looping sound I hear in most of it is a violin, synth line, or weird guitar effect.  And so...

The Greatest Album Ever Made Since Masterdong's "Welcome To The Dong Show"

" Cuck Dirt - Dopesmoker Is A Fucking Terrible Album CS This whole tape is just one minute long diss track at one of the most revered stoner metal albums ever, and it's just a pure blast for the entire 60 seconds. Cuck Dirt are amazing and this tape immediately landed a spot in my year end list when it arrived in my mailbox. Snotty, humorous, nothing but a good time." - Built to Blast webzine, May 11, 2019 https://doughgirl.bandcamp.com/album/dopesmoker-is-a-fucking-terrible-album   https://doughgirl.bandcamp.com/album/dopesmoker-is-a-fucking-terrible-album

It's called Dust Hunny . Here's a music video for the debut single. Further links in first comment...   For more from Dust Hunny, go here: https://linktr.ee/dusthunny

Guillermo Pizarro - Jouska, Vol. 1

Image
From Billy (aka Guillermo Pizarro) of Flag Day Recordings...  https://satatuhatta.bandcamp.com/album/jouska-vol-1 Guillermo Pizarro "I'm pleased to announce that my newest solo album is out now on the amazing Finnish label Satatuhatta.   Jouska, Vol. 1 was originally going to be a Flag Day release, but with such a packed release schedule, I decided to see if a label would be interested in it to offload some of my work.   Satatuhatta has been a recent favorite of mine. They are consistently releasing stellar harsh noise, thankfully they felt this was good enough for their roster. They were my one and only choice for who to pitch this release for. I'm truly honored to be among this batch of releases with Green Tea, MNEM, H.Ö.H., Resting Place and Commando 15. It would mean a lot to me if you picked up a copy my tape, it would mean even more to me if you also checked out the whole batch.   "Guillermo Pizarro from West Virginia is a noise artist who also runs the the lab...

Dead Housewife/Whore's Breath - Split (Harsh Noise Wall)

Image
From Stemms Audio (Cincinnati, OH, USA): "New HNW split from Dead Housewife (Ken of Latex Priest) and Whore’s Breath (David Hilshorst). Dead Housewife gives us a muffled, muddy, frolicking wall while WB offers us a rolling, swampy, static wall. "  (I combined the two write-ups that David made) https://stemmstapes.bandcamp.com/album/dead-housewife-whores-breath https://stemmstapes.bandcamp.com/album/dead-housewife-whores-breath
