This new live album from Phil Blankenship's harsh noise project, THE CHERRY POINT, would accomplish that for you.  THE RITA guests on the third track, which is just devastating.  Listen to the whole thing, either with good headphones or good speakers.  They're three live sets; two from L.A. and one from Seattle.  The first two are THE CHERRY POINT solo and the last one is with THE RITA.  I got my copy of the CD from Torn Light Records.  It came out in September and sadly, the physical copy is sold out on Helicopter's bandcamp.  You can get digital there, though.  This might end up in my top five albums of the year,  If you're a noise fan, I would strongly urge that you get this.   Sick Death-doom from Minneapolis that sounds a lot like EVOKEN to me at times.  I saw them live last year and it felt like they opened up a black hole of awesomeness.  Totally sick.  This is their debut full-length, which follows their very solid demo and impressive split EP with the incredible French death-doom band ATAVISMA .  I purchased the digital version of this, which came out on September 11th of this year. Former Maggot Stomp Records Texas death metal band Frozen Soul has signed to Century Media and have a new album slated to come out in January.  Here's a video of a new song:     Death metal band UNDEATH, from Upstate New York, have signed to Prosthetic Records.  Here's what Decibel Magazine has to say about it: "It’s pure death metal worship, pulling inspiration from genre forefathers like Incantation, Cannibal Corpse and Demlich, plus newer bands like Tomb Mold. Okay, so there's a major new album round-up here... DROPDEAD - Self-Titled This is their first full-length release in TWENTY-TWO YEARS and it doesn't disappoint!!!!  I shouldn't have to go into detail about this Rhode Island hardcore punk band, but I'll give you some info.  The vocal style and rhythms are different, but in a good way.  You can understand what they're saying, but they didn't sacrifice anything in the process. Weird black metal riffs, different vocal styles, noise rock influences, and more!!!  It maintains my interest from front to back and the best song is actually SLOW!...

 (album design from By.Robin ) Oh snap.  They've actually gotten better... how does a band manage that when they've been around for thirty years?!??  Maybe from living healthy and avoiding heroin?  I don't know, just a theory...  Anyhow, this album has broken new ground in the sludge genre, which only makes sense, considering they started it (if you take issue with that claim, take it up with Ken-E Bones... you'll regret you did!!!!).  This isn't just well-written, though - it's also the best-produced album of theirs.  And on top of that, it's the first self-produced album of theirs... Bones was behind the mixing board for this one and spent a lot of time on it... which shows.  It's not muddy - you can hear everything.  From the rattling distortion on the guitar that shows a slight influence from early IGGY & THE STOOGES to synth lines (a first for NEGATIVE), the return of the Native American flute, to a NEUROSIS influence on the s...

(latest shirt design, © By Robin) NEGATIVE REACTION's first album in like... a decade(?!) is just about finished - right now it's in the mastering stage at Steer Run Studios, which is Ken-E-Bones' recording studio at his compound in West Virginia (he relocated there from Long Island!!!!).  Speaking as one of the few people to have heard a track from it, I can tell you that it's going to be good ...  I had the privilege of seeing them last summer, where Ken-E-Bones, as he put it, "channeled his inner Randy Rhodes".  That's not just an opinion he and myself share, but his band and a pioneer of the sludge community who witnessed it live.  Get ready to be shocked by these solos.  At this point, I think it's safe to say that his guitar-playing is superior to Matt Pike, Wino, and even Dave Chandler.  So be sure to check it out when it drops!
