Image
Gileah Taylor's 'Slow Parade' is out today   xxxxxx North Florida indie-folk songwriter  Gileah Taylor ’s new chamber-pop album  Slow Parade  (out Apr. 26 via  Velvet Blue Music ). It's an autobiographical concept album about life’s journey from idealized childhoods to choosing happiness as an adult. Gileah is a songwriter at the top of her game as piano and guitars join lush orchestral strings in this album exploring dichotomies of depression and hope—all through a filter of family, romance and the secrets that the moon and the sun hold. It’s a record about embracing change, and growing into a better version of yourself. Gileah (pronounced GIL-ee-uh) has opened for Over the Rhine, played festival stages with Jeff Tweedy and Roseanne Cash, and has been a live guest on NPR’s Echoes. You can hear her song "Going Home" in the Netflix original series  13 Reasons Why . Her new record  Slow Parade  was produced by Nashville broth...

New Coliseum (KY) song debuts!!!!

Image
Coliseum just released You Might Be Dead , check it out here .   “We're happy to share the first new Coliseum song in 9 years. "You Might Be Dead" was written and recorded during rehearsals for our 20th anniversary shows. As we played songs from our back catalog that meant so much to us, we were inspired to write a new song that channeled those feelings and that energy. We had an incredible time making our C.L.S.M. side project/offshoot album that was released last year, but "You Must Be Dead" connects directly to the sound and trajectory we forged when we solidified our identity as a band throughout House With A Curse, Sister Faith, and Anxiety's Kiss. "You Must Be Dead" approaches some of the themes in Coliseum songs since day one; forging ahead in a life outside the lines, never giving up on your passions and missions, watching everything around you constantly shift as you dig deeper and deeper into your creative world. ...

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! NEW SUPPRESSION SONG DEBUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image
https://disposableunderground.com/listen-to-a-suppression-song-premiere-as-they-and-shitstorm-prepare-to-tour-east-asia The article on Disposable Underground: "Two bands that cause a ruckus whenever they play are Suppression and Shitstorm, and they’re teaming up for a tour of Japan and South Korea—dates and tour posters are below. Both of these bands are extreme but have personality. Let’s talk about each group for a minute and then listen to an exclusive Suppression track. Shitstorm Nolan (of Genocide Pact and Disciples Of Christ fame) is the live bass player for the grindcore band Shitstorm, and as he was running errands in preparation for the tour, I grabbed a lightning-fast hangout with him and asked for his thoughts on his upcoming trip. “I’m fuckin’ stoked,” he said. “Pretty legendary. Can’t really imagine a situation I’d be more excited about for playing grindcore in Japan [and South Korea].” Suppression Jason Hodges (one half of Suppression) ...

TINA FEY - "In Living Memory" (Cincinnati "post-grind")

Here's a write-up from their label, Nefarious Industries ... "TINA FEY is a two-piece post-grind band from Cincinnati, Ohio. Bryce Aasen left TINA FEY in 2023, at which point members Shon Worthington and Logan Nichols scrapped everything and started over with a sound more focused, aggressive, sincere, and most importantly louder. After their final set of 2023, a member of local powerviolence band Stall said that TINA FEY makes, "the kind of music that I like to listen to when I'm having the worst day of my fucking life." In Living Memory drive three new tracks into the listener’s ears, the EP bearing a gnarly thirteen minutes of dismal, hypnotizing, grimy, hardcoreesque “grind-on-downers.” The songs were recorded by Andrew Tetrick, mixed by Johnny DeBorde (For Your Health), and mastered by Ryan Prushinski (Doom Beach). Vocalist/guitarist Logan Nichols states, “ In Living Memory" is the first three songs that Shon a...
