This is insanity... here's another one of them.  I previously posted two (which were initially slated for November).  Wednesday, another one gets posted on their bandcamp.  Then the last of these five will be posted on Thursday. Obsolete Reality by Sidetracked "Here's the first 6 tracks from this upcoming 19 track cd. Grinding fastcore. We got 5 releases coming out THIS FRIDAY."   - Jay from SIDETRACKED

Gerald Raymond Lewis RIP (EVERYDAY OBJECTS, NAKED CORPSE, SOLIAH SHAWCROSS, ETC)

I have some sad news to report from Cincinnati, Ohio... "Got word this morning that Jerry passed away. I don't have any info as to what happened. Some of y'all might remember him from here, his old label Limbless, his bands NoArmsNoLegs, Soliah Shawcross, White Heterosexuals, Everyday Objects. I've known Jerry since back in the 90s, he is one of the weirdest most intelligent guys and it's been hell to watch him struggle. Rest well dude." - James Downing (posted on the Viva la Vinyl message board, 9/25/2020)   Here's a list of bands I know he was in and links to get the music: EVERYDAY OBJECTS (Killed By Death-style punk rock) https://everydayobjects.bandcamp.com   THEY FOUND MY NAKED CORPSE FACE DOWN IN THE SNOW (Portland-based Screamo, or as you kids are calling it these days, "Skramz") http://thisendlessbreath.blogspot.com/2014/06/they-found-my-naked-corpse-face-down-in.html   WHITE HETEROSEXUALS (Power Electronics - a parody of the abs...

First New HYPOCHRISTIANS in TWENTY YEARS?!??

Album of the Year Contender? KHTHONIIK CERVIIKS - Æequiizoiikum

Image
KHTHONIIK CERVIIKS - Æequiizoiikum might end up being my album of the year.  The best description of it would be if VOIVOD's Killing Technology album had a bad dream.  Death and black metal are mixed together with some weird VOIVOD worship to come up with something strange and unique.  This German band has a split LP, demo, and another full-length out so far. Stream and purchase digitally here: https://ironboneheadproductions.bandcamp.com/album/khthoniik-cerviiks-equiizoiikum For a copy of the LP or CD, use this site, where you can compare prices from different stores: https://themetaldetektor.com

New VOID ROT Album (Sick Death-Doom from MN) Is Out!!!!

Image
Sick Death-doom from Minneapolis that sounds a lot like EVOKEN to me at times.  I saw them live last year and it felt like they opened up a black hole of awesomeness.  Totally sick.  This is their debut full-length, which follows their very solid demo and impressive split EP with the incredible French death-doom band ATAVISMA .  I purchased the digital version of this, which came out on September 11th of this year. Here's what their label, Sentient Ruin , has to say about it: American death-doom titans Void Rot return with their colossal debut full-length LP "Descending Pillars", an imposing sonic monolith of obsidian slow death metal and dismal atmospherics that encases the listener into a monstrous sarcophagus of sound. In its immense forty minutes "Descending Pillars" conjures visions of otherworldly finality and of absurd forms of death and demise taking shape at the edge of a formless and implacable dark cosmos. With influences ranging from Grave,...

UNDERGANG LIVE SET - PLAYING SONGS FROM NEW ALBUM!!!!!!!!

No idea if you need Facebook to watch this...

FLESH HOOT's "Endless Execution", a new 7" from people in Ohio and Canada

Image
FLESH HOOT's Effortless Execution is a new 7" from who I suspect is a SULFURIC CAUTERY member... and someone(s?) in Manitoba.  The vinyl 7" will be released on Bloody Scythe Records. Blast Addict calls it "CRUSTY DEATH GORE MASSACRE", which sounds accurate. The digital download is name your price.   https://blastaddict.bandcamp.com/album/effortless-execution

New track debuts from FROZEN SOUL and UNDEATH, new label signings for both!!!

Image
Former Maggot Stomp Records Texas death metal band Frozen Soul has signed to Century Media and have a new album slated to come out in January.  Here's a video of a new song:     Death metal band UNDEATH, from Upstate New York, have signed to Prosthetic Records.  Here's what Decibel Magazine has to say about it: "It’s pure death metal worship, pulling inspiration from genre forefathers like Incantation, Cannibal Corpse and Demlich, plus newer bands like Tomb Mold. It’s a pretty simple formula, but an effective one: instead of reinventing the wheel, Undeath beat the listener over the head with the old one." Here is a track from their upcoming release: https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2020/09/24/track-premiere-undeath-acidic-twilight-visions

New albums from DROPDEAD (first in 22 yrs!!!) and NAPALM DEATH

Image
Okay, so there's a major new album round-up here... DROPDEAD - Self-Titled This is their first full-length release in TWENTY-TWO YEARS and it doesn't disappoint!!!!  I shouldn't have to go into detail about this Rhode Island hardcore punk band, but I'll give you some info.  The vocal style and rhythms are different, but in a good way.  You can understand what they're saying, but they didn't sacrifice anything in the process. Get it from Deathwish Inc or Armageddon Label . Official Website   Official Band Facebook Official Instagram Album to stream or buy on Bandcamp Album to stream on Spotify NAPALM DEATH - Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism   On the 18th of September this year, NAPALM DEATH released a new album and it's the most unique and diverse release they've done in decades. Weird black metal riffs, different vocal styles, noise rock influences, and more!!!  It maintains my interest from front to back and the best song is actually SLOW!...
