Sick new NKY death metal that cover some rather sick things...

The debut album from new death metal band, MAGGOT CASKET (ft. mbrs. of HIGHGATE, BENEATH OBLIVION, etc), is basically the soundtrack to a gore-fueled horror movie marathon in hell.  And thankfully, it takes influences from AUTOPSY, REPULSION, MORBID ANGEL, CELTIC FROST, MONSTROSITY, CIANIDE, and INCANTATION, rather than CANNIBAL CORPSE and SIX FEET UNDER (no offense, but I'm tired of that).  There are also movie samples and gross sound effects galore, which helps to bring their horrific vision to fruition.  Some of the songs, especially on the last 1/4 of the album, bring in some stuff I'm not used to hearing in death metal.  They worked it in really well, so I tend to listen to those tracks the most.  I really hope to hear more stuff like that in the future.  Would be interesting to see what it turns into.  Creativity and death metal are two things that usually aren't found in the same sentence in a positive light, so MAGGOT CASKET have my re...

Ledge Walker split with Flesh Vomit now available

One of the first local releases of the new year, this has some brutal, painful noise from Cincinnati's Ledge Walker.  I'm listening to the Ledge Walker part right now and haven't even made it to the Flesh Vomit side.  Not sure if I physically can, this is so intense...  Anyhow, it's pay-what-you-want on bandcamp...  https://ledgewalker.bandcamp.com/album/moral-scoliosis-split-with-flesh-vomit Moral Scoliosis (Split with Flesh Vomit) by Ledge Walker

Two NEW EP's from RALPH!!!

They're both "Pay-what-you-want". Here's the first: Rehearsal EP by Ralph And here's the second: West Palm Beach EP by Ralph

Review of RALPH's unreleased demo comp tape from 2017

Image
https://www.facebook.com/ralphkralphkralph Finally able to listen to tapes!!!! First one on is Ralph's "The Wichita Line Cook (Compilation Jan to Nov 2017)". It's pretty weird (thank God), as to be expected of him. Everything from "harsh noise" to field recordings to what I call "Robert Johnson by way of Daniel Johnston". But now I'd add Danielson Famile and "old-timey bluegrass" on AM radio as descriptors. It's good stuff!!!! I don't think he has it up online, but here's his "regular" stuff... https://ralphkralph.bandcamp.com HOW TO PURCHASE IT: Ralph Dubbing some copies of Ralph 90 min 2017 comp tape "the Wichita line cook" to send out. Contains 2 previously released Digital EPs and around 60 minutes of unreleased misc home recordings made jan-nov 2017. Each copy has unique handwritten insert and printed tracklist. mail ralphkralph )))at((( gmail.com or com...

Image
I have this and enjoy it quite a bit.  The mastering job was remarkable and it made my favorite Brody's tunes even better. Comes with all the lyrics (except for covers, obviously).  I strongly suggest getting it! Go here for more info: http://backwoodsbutcher.blogspot.com/2017/12/brodys-militia-early-days-discography.html
